About the Role
Overview
The safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and other zebra crossing users (e.g. e-scooter riders), is a major concern in many urban areas. This is particularly true at junctions where visibility is limited, or when zebra crossing users approach too fast or due to prevailing weather conditions. These situations can lead to accidents, sometimes resulting in fatalities, as vehicle drivers may fail to notice the crossing users or have insufficient time to stop the vehicle.
The project aim is to develop a product (ZebraCrossPlus) that addresses this issue by
leveraging IoT technology to enhance safety and reduce the risk of accidents by alerting drivers to
the presence of approaching zebra cross users.
Goals
- Analyze, compare, and understand the technologies and devices required to achieve the project.
- Finalize the devices/hardware components best suited for the project based on technology and scenarios.
- Analyzing the power source requirements for the product.
- Documentation and review of the above analysis.
- Conduct a Proof of Concept (POC) with a basic implementation.
