Prestudy proposal by MittLogik, Sigma Technology Embedded Network and RISE granted by Vinnova (Sweden's innovation agency)

MittLogik and its R&D team are pleased to announce that a research grant has been awarded by Vinnova (Sweden's innovation agency) for a prestudy proposal in the area of Road Safety. MittLogik will partner with Sigma Technology Embedded Network and RISE Research Institutes of Sweden for the execution of the prestudy.

Our R&D team has been hard at work on various innovative ideas for improving Road Safety. A focus of our team has been on IoT solutions aligning with the Vision Zero initiative to eliminate traffic fatalities and severe injuries. Our prestudy proposal ‘Safer Crossways using I2V’ is an offshoot of the ideas the team has been exploring in enhancing communication between road side infrastructure and vehicles.

The 'Safer Crossways using I2V' prestudy proposal is a forward-thinking initiative that aims to enhance road safety by improving communication between roadside infrastructure and vehicles. This project, supported by Vinnova, is set to run from August 2024 to February 2025. It builds on the concept of intelligent intersections, which can significantly reduce accidents by providing vehicles with real-time data about signal phases, blind spots, and potential hazards. This approach not only promises to make crossways safer for drivers but also for pedestrians and cyclists, contributing to the broader goals of traffic-safe automation and the Vision Zero initiative to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries.

The grant is provided by FFI. FFI - Strategic Vehicle Research and Innovation, is a joint program between the state and the automotive industry running since 2009. FFI promotes and finances research and innovation to sustainable road transport. Read more about FFI here

We extend our wholehearted thanks to Lunds Kommun, Staffanstorps Kommun, Tomelilla Kommun, Future by Lund, DigIT Hub and Mobile Heights for encouraging and supporting our initiative.
